One of the primary purposes of a crowd managements plan is to identify the risks that an event will present to crowd safety and the management systems. This presentation will consider the positive opportunities drones present and how they support the management planning and decision making when dealing with threats and risks at major events. Dangers posed by rouge drone operators, to members of the public, is on the increase and the presentation will also explore the significance and need for a structured approach to address these hazards at major events. The presenter will talk about his role in a project that will lead to an effective drone detection, countermeasure and enforcement option at ten UK summer festivals in 2019.
